Abstract

Community empowerment currently continues to be carried out, community empowerment is

an effort to empower the community, especially the community in Babakan Village, Ciwaringin

District, Cirebon Regency, due to its incompetence both due to internal and external factors. This

empowerment is expected to be able to change the order of life of the community for the better, one

way is by means of a religious approach both in mosques and in madrasas, The concept of

development using a direct approach that positions the community as an object of forming a less

empowered society. Lack of power in the aspects of human resources and natural resources, as well

as the decline in the practice of values or norms that apply to society, both normative in nature

derived from religion and culture. Lack of power in the aspects of human resources and natural

and avoid negative influences that are contrary to religious values. The empowerment programs for

the community in Babakan Village, Ciwaringin District include: teaching literacy and memorization

of the Qur'an, recitation of the yellow book, five-time prayer pilgrims and maintenance of worship

facilities. Therefore, a development paradigm that is more in favor of the community is even

correlated with Islamic teachings. Correlation between community development through religious
